Wes and Lindsey's wedding at the Cedar House in Golden, BC might look somewhat unconventional at first glance. And indeed, elements were a break from the norm. Like Lindsey's green dress, her phenomenal fascinator (made by her own two hands), and the incredible rings, one amethyst and with 100 years on this earth, the other made with meteorite and dinosaur bone. But there were other aspects of this wedding that were pure classic, in all the best ways. A completely smitten couple. Two families tickled by the union. An intimate gathering of close friends. Award winning cuisine. Reminiscings of an approving grandfather. And incredible color and detail designed and implemented by Christina Ignacio-Deines of ID Bohemia. This was a wedding that was unique, authentic, true. A pleasure to witness, a pleasure to document.

I liked Dan and Lisa from the first time we met. I liked their laid back approach to wedding planning, their appreciation for time spent outdoors, their comfortable and comical way of interacting with each other. So it was no surprise that I fully enjoyed their wedding last weekend. It was a small gathering at the intimate Cedar House Restaurant on the bench above Golden. The weather was in and out, which I'm always quite fond of, and the vibe was relaxed and elegant. These two value good wine, good food, and good company, all of which they had in spades. As far as I can tell, it was a perfect celebration.
Andy Stuart-Hill officiated the wedding. Love that guy!

There are a couple of cabins on site at the Cedar House, as well as an amazing new eco-friendly chalet.
The Cedar House has been voted one of the Top 50 Places To Eat in Canada for six consecutive years by the National Restaurant Guide. The kitchen pulls many ingredients from their very own organic garden.
