I met Suzanne on a pretty special day a couple years back, a stormy winter afternoon when her son Ryan married his love, Liz, atop Kicking Horse. We got together for some portraits this spring, and I loved the confidence that she exuded, a woman quite comfortable with who she is. May we all find such comfort.

Michelle is on a mission, taking her personal journey to health and applying her experience and compassion to make life better for her coaching clients. It was amazing to hear her story of resilience and I'm excited to see where her budding business takes her. No doubt, there will be lives changed along the way.

I really enjoy watching a family grow, either in numbers or in height. That's part of why it's always fun to venture east to Calgary to photograph the Bebbs. The littlest ones are getting not-so-little, and they're super busy being ridiculously cute.
Catherine is going to print up these three black + white edits of the kiddos to hang on a wall and see everyday. That makes me smile, and hopefully it will make them all smile often as well.

The Bebbs have a new babe! Little Nesta arrived in July, and I stopped in to their lovely Hiilhurst home a couple weeks ago to meet her (and catch up with her big brother and sister, Isaiah and Elinor). It was a short visit, but there was time to hear a tune on the piano, check out the latest scooter moves, walk to the park, climb a tree or two, and even take some photos. These guys are fun to be around, and Nesta's settling right in, with a most serene style.

There's something really special about being a witness to an elopement. I end up feeling quite close to the couple as I photograph them. And sometimes it ends there, we part ways with a hug and never meet again. But sometimes I'm lucky to see their love and life in another stage down the road one day. Such was the case with Gwyn and Catherine, whose winter elopement at Emerald Lake was stunning and sweet. This time around, I had a chance to spend some time with the family in their newly completed home in a cozy, quiet little neighbourhood of Calgary near the river. Not surprisingly, these two have great taste and the home is full of natural light, fresh air, clean lines. The main impetus for the shoot was the smiling little face of Elinor, the newest addition to the party. She's amazing. Her adoring big brother Isaiah had broken his leg while skiing the week before, which added comedy and a few wicked wheelchair tricks to the mix. It was a delightful reason to be in Calgary on a Saturday, a pleasure.
