It felt like there was a lot on my plate. I needed to refresh, reboot, relax. So I squished a trip to the forest into my schedule last week. Birken Forest Monastery was there waiting for me to unwind for a weekend. To read books, stretch, nap, float around the marsh in a canoe. But mostly, sit in silence. It was precisely what my heart and mind needed. I came home feeling less like the motherboard of my computer-like brain was going to overheat and explode. I felt cool, calm, back on track.
